Colophon

How this site is made, and the choices behind it.

Design

A quiet place for my research, work, teaching, and writing. Generous spacing and a clear type hierarchy keep the content easy to scan and comfortable to read.

The main typeface is Athletics. Charter is used for long-form reading. Blue marks an interaction; pale colours and abstract artwork give individual pieces their own character.

Artwork

Abstract covers connect each paper, article, blurb, and lecture to an idea inside it. Organisation logos belong to their respective organisations.

Built with

Astro and TypeScript, with static pages hosted on GitHub Pages. Images are served in AVIF and WebP. KaTeX renders equations, and highlight.js handles code.

The site builds its social preview images from the same content as its pages. Technical articles originally published on Hashnode retain a link and canonical reference to the original.

Motion and access

Interactions are brief: a small response to a button, a navigation indicator, or a cover moving into its detail page. Reduced-motion preferences keep these changes immediate.

Keyboard navigation, visible focus states, readable contrast, image descriptions, and a useful experience without JavaScript are part of the design.

Source and history

This portfolio grew from a research site into a fuller record of my work. Earlier versions live in the Archive.
